Summer Wine Classic Car Hire Ltd offers splendid and characterful classic cars for chauffeured hire from its base in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire. The company is owned and run by Richard and Loretta Skelton who also provide bed and breakfast accommodation at their home, Ash House, an imposing former mill owner's residence overlooking countryside on the edge of the famous Summer Wine town.
Since being founded in 2005 primarily as a self-drive hire business, we have come to specialise in providing quality classic cars for weddings in West Yorkshire and further afield, but we are a wedding car company with a difference. As well as supplying our cars for others to enjoy, we are enthusiasts and we use the cars ourselves whenever possible. Meticulously maintained and given regular exercise, all our classic vehicles are kept in tip-top order and as a result we have driven our cars to weddings all over the north of England. They are certainly not trailer queens!
We have helped hundreds of brides get to the church on time and at one point we had ten fantastic classic cars on our fleet. It has been a great pleasure to take part in so many happy occasions but during 2010 we decided to scale the business down and concentrate largely on providing cars for weddings close to our base here in Holmfirth.
In 2011 we will be pleased to offer a splendid black and silver 1950 Bentley Mark Six, a metallic silver 1964 Jaguar Mark Two saloon (the Inspector Morse car), a 1978 Daimler Sovereign and a 1979 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow with royal connections!
