Richard Skelton has been a self employed television drama sound editor since 1988 after five years on the staff at Yorkshire television. Programmes he has worked on include long running series such as Heartbeat, The Royal and Where The Heart Is and one offs such as A Rather English Marriage starring Albert Finney, Tom Courtenay and Joanna Lumley and The Magnificent Seven featuring Helena Bonham Carter.
A qualified journalist, he has written a motorcycling book, Funky Mopeds, which was published in 2004 and he is a regular contributor to motorcycle racing magazines. Richard is also a feature writer for race programmes for Brands Hatch and other leading British circuits.
Richard has been a motorcycle and classic car enthusiast for many years and in 2005 he set up Summer Wine Classic Car Hire Ltd which he operates, together with his partner, Loretta, from their home in Holmfirth in West Yorkshire.
