
Richard Skelton has been a freelance television drama sound editor since 1988 following a five year stint on the permanent staff at Yorkshire television. Programmes he has worked on include long running series such as Waterloo Road, Heartbeat, The Royal and Where The Heart Is and one-offs such as A Rather English Marriage starring Albert Finney, Tom Courtenay and Joanna Lumley and The Magnificent Seven featuring Helena Bonham Carter.
A qualified journalist, he has written a motorcycling book, Funky Mopeds, which was published in 2004 and he has been a regular contributor to motorcycle racing magazines and a feature writer for race programmes for Brands Hatch and other leading British circuits.
Richard has been a motorcycle and classic car enthusiast for many years and in 2005, together with his wife Loretta, he set up Summer Wine Classic Car Hire Ltd and Ash House B&B which they operate from their home in Holmfirth in West Yorkshire.
