Ash House is an imposing stone built double fronted Victorian mill owner's house on the edge of Holmfirth, overlooking fields and countryside but just ten minutes' walk from shops and restaurants in the centre of Holmfirth. The house has ample parking and attractive gardens and is a suitable start point for a number of scenic country walks, for which we are happy to provide maps and guide books.
You can expect a welcoming cup of tea or coffee on arrival with biscuits or homemade cake, and in the mornings, full English breakfasts are cooked in an Aga in a traditional kitchen using ingredients from national award winning Holmfirth butcher Brindon Addy who is supplied exclusively by local farms. Vegetarian breakfast is also offered. For lunches and evening meals we can recommend several excellent restaurants and cafes in the town. You will find links to several of these businesses on the Links page of this website.
It is our intention to offer a high standard of service with a personal touch.
Accommodation is in the form of a spacious three room suite comprising large double bedroom with sitting area (19' x 13'3"), generous lounge / dining room (23' x 14'4") and en-suite shower room with toilet and permanent hot water. The suite is in an extension to the main property and can be accessed independently if preferred. A smaller twin room (14'3" x 13'4"), which also has an en suite bathroom and toilet, is available in the main house.
Rooms are equipped with televisions and tea and coffee making facilities and guests are invited to make use of the owner's extensive library of motoring and motorcycling books during their stay. Customers can bring up to two well behaved dogs by arrangement and dog beds and blankets can be provided if required.
